Residents volunteering their time and Making Dresses at Avamere at Park Place for girls in Africa

It all started with a random internet search. Caroline Swanson and Paula Crane, two assisted living residents at Avamere at Park Place in Tigard, Oregon, found Little Dresses for Little Girls in Africa.

This Christian nonprofit lives by their motto “We’re not just sending dresses, we’re sending hope” as the team provides humanitarian relief to young girls and their families in Africa. They build relationships with the wonderful communities as they help provide clean water and education.

Sending love through dresses

Caroline and Paula got right to work drafting their own dress patterns and requested donations of money or fabric.

Since they started in May 2019, the two have donated over 140 dresses and even started making shorts for boys. They plan to complete their part of the project by May 2020 to mark one full year of kind service.

Thank you to Caroline and Paula for sending love to deserving girls and boys in Africa. Check out a few of their beautiful dresses below!
